For some reason, Stephan can always be seen wearing a beanie, no matter the time of day nor the season. It came to him quite naturally in a loud household. Being in the middle of the brood of children, with a lot of big personalities and in fighting, Stephan found it easier to be quiet, aloof, and distant. It kept him out of trouble, and truth be told, he felt utterly content and peaceful when he was away from all of the chaos. However, that does not mean that Stephan should be underestimated, for he has both a quick wit and never hesitates when it comes to decision making. In addition, Stephan seems to be intuitive by nature, something that was cultivated over time and developed full force when his two older brothers left. Looking after his younger brothers and watching their grieving dad has also managed to help Stephan hone a perceptive nature when it comes to people, something that he hopes to fully unlock should he ever become an investigative journalist. In addition, Stephen managed to cultivate a whole lot of patience over the years, and is not easily goaded into argument. His patience excels when taking care of his father now or when he's helping out his brothers. Admittingly, Jace can still get the best of him sometimes, but it takes a lot. Nonetheless, Stephen cares deeply for all of his brothers, even when they don't always return. the history father • Shaun Gavin Breckah , 43, Boxing Coach mother • Tracy Breckah [deceased] siblings • KEITH JONAH BRECKAH , 23, Nurse DEREK DANIEL BRECKAH , 22, Bouncer MAVERICK THOMAS BRECKAH , 19, Horse Exerciser Jace Christian Breckah , 17, Student LINCOLN HARVEY BRECKAH , 16, Student -- Paul, 15, Student CREVEN PATRICK BRECKAH , 14, Student important people • - hometown • Birmingham, England [Born]; Hickstead, England [Raised] overall history • Likely unexpected and born third child to Shaun and Tracey Breckah, Stephen never got a small taste of his family's home, Ireland. He ended up being born in Birmingham. He managed to escape the cramped confides that his older brothers had been born into, and his parents hidden fights. Instead, he appeared to get the best of it. The decent apartment, a stay at home mom, a father who traveled a lot for work, but when Shaun was home, he doting upon all three of his sons. At the time, Stephen enjoyed being the youngest son from what he could remember. But that would soon change with another brother. And then he was no longer the youngest. Before long, the apartment they lived in felt cramped, and now either one or both of his parents seemed to be missing due to long hours. And while he never heard a peep, young Stephen was certain that something was going on with his parents despite the plaster of happy faces they often put on around him and his brothers. Stephen never felt happy despite his parents efforts, mainly because soon he was no longer the youngest child and squarely in the middle now. Even though he was still young, it felt impossibly hard to get the attention of either of his parents. And his elder brothers at that age didn't seem to want their annoying kid brother tagging along. The apartment would always get loud with each new scream, each wailing blow out of a tantrum, or squabble between brothers. Stephen always tried to be good, which got him lost in the chaos. He finally gave up on vying for his parents and older brothers, deciding he would go and hide off to do his own thing. It was then he discovered that perhaps the peace and quiet wasn't so terrible, in fact, it was welcoming. At six kids, the Breckahs found that they needed to move out of their apartment, and Tracey managed to influence the move to Hickstead, England with a quaint home with a backyard. It turned out to be everyone's dream. Stephen, despite his quiet nature, felt like he was truly thriving in Hickstead. He found himself more involved with school and writing, he became obsessed with reading and watching the news, not to mention, he would secretly binge watch investigative news from all over the world. Of course, being a Breckah, or at least Shaun Breckah's son, also meant that he eventually would be taught on how to fight, much to his mother dismay. Even Tracy tried to keep him from the lessons at first, but Stephen kept going, knowing that going would do him more good then trying to wheedle his way out of it. To his surprise, Stephen found that he was actually quite good at fighting, or at least, he was quite good to a degree. He was light on his feet and good at avoiding the aim of the punches, although he never took to offense completely. Attacking just was not his thing, although if it came down to it, he was excellent at getting into a grapple and quick to produce the submissions. It was handy to have, either around his father or many of his brothers. Even every once in a while, he would need it in school since bullies thought they could take him on although it would end him up in the principle office and a disappointed Tracey. So he did his best to avoid it when he could. The rough and tumble of adolescence and teenage years made living in the Breckah household interesting, with testing their boundaries with their parents. Stephen soon figured it out that his Shaun had taken to just being the punisher while Tracey was the lover, so he mainly tried to stay out of his father's way. During high school, he even got into the school's newspaper to take a crack at his journalism skills and got a side gig at the movie theater to help out his parents with money. As the years went by, everything seemed to be going well for the Breckah family, despite the occasional fights. Stephen had also noticed a change with his brother Jace, like he wasn't quite himself anymore and always seemed to be instigating things with their father and the rest of them, even Stephen, much to annoyance but he always did his best to not snap at his younger brother. Despite some of the other Breckah men insisting that's just how Jace is going to be or it was a phase, he felt like there was more to it. As he graduated high school, Stephen felt like he was in the home stretch of his life. No longer was he constraint by socio politics of high school, and actually managed to get into the journalism program at University of Oxford on full scholarship, leaving home behind for the first time. The two years into Oxford seemed to fly by, and Stephen was enjoying himself. While he still kept his quiet and aloof nature, he truly flourished there in school. However, he would soon be called home by tragedy. First he heard news of his brother, Maverick, ending up in the hospital due to an equestrian accident. He dropped everything to go home to visit him in the hospital. And then, their mother died in a car accident. At the funeral, Stephen began to observe the cracks happening, ripping faster than when they were together. Stephen told himself there was nothing he could do, he had to finish Oxford. However, no sooner did he leave did he heard that Jace laughed at their mother dying, and everything imploded. Keith was in Willow City now, Derek moved out but helped from a healthy distance. Their father took took heavy drinking, and now poor Maverick was burning through his savings for the house and the food bills, not to mention wrangling the younger brothers. He had even heard that at one point, Link became convinced that he had been the one to cause the car crash prior to autotopsty coming back to reveal it had been a heart attack. As much as he wanted to graduate from Oxford, Stephen knew that he couldn't leave Maverick behind to deal with that home life. He couldn't leave any of his brothers behind or his dad to rot away like he was doing. He would feel too guilty remaining off in his own world. So, he dropped out, much to the protest of his university counselor and his favorite professor. Stephen could only hope that bridges were not permanently burned and returned to Hickstead to move back in with his family. He enrolled at local university to continue his studies at a lesser pace and even got his old job back at the movie theater just to get cash in on the table, although he's currently on the hunt for something with a fatter paycheck. the role player alias • forever age • old other characters • many |
